Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. A delegation of Financial Markets International Inc. visited Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) as part of the first phase of capital market training programme for BSE through funding from the EBRD.

The delegation will have meetings at the State Committee for Securities, National Depository Center, brokerage houses and other structures.

Following the meetings, a Training Needs Assessment Report will be prepared.

As a result of the meeting is planned to develop a report on needs assessment, which will cover the problems of the stock market and the conduct of trainings.

The project is also expected to make recommendations on implementing corporate governance standards, the institutionalization of the market and optimize infrastructure.

The overall objective of the EBRD programme is to contribute to the development of the capital market in Azerbaijan by increasing the awareness, professionalism and know-how basis of BSE and possibly certain key capital market participants (for instance supervisory authorities, issuers, brokers, financial intermediaries, institutional investors and other capital market participants).

The overall objective will be achieved by addressing the current deficiencies in skills by providing staff of BSE and Key Capital Market Participants with tailor-made training sessions and workshops through the BSE Training Centre.
