Economic Research Center says March deflation was 0.84% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguliyev â€“ APA-Economics. Consumer Price Index dropped by 0.84 percent in Azerbaijan during March, said according to the Economic Research Centerâ€™s report based on the Alternative Inflation Methodology Development Project.
The price drop was 1.05 percent in Baku and 0.63 percent in regions.
The report is based on surveys on goods and services in 11 regions of the country.
The highest deflation was in prices of non-foods, especially construction materials.
On year-on-year basis, prices were 1.97 percent higher on March 2008.
Inflation was 5.34 percent in March 2008.
The report said Consumer Price Index dropped by 3.16% during January-March.
The USAIDâ€™s Alternative Inflation Methodology Development in Azerbaijan Program was launched in 2007.
