Azerbaijan Banks Association to join an international bank conference in Vienna

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan Banks Association will attend the 3rd Banking Forum of the CIS Countries & Eastern Europe and 20th BACEE (Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe) Country and Bank Conference in Vienna from April 23-25.

Ferhad Aliyev, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Banks Association, said they received an invitation and would send a delegation to the annual event.
â€œThe Association will be represented in this event. It depends on banks to attend,â€ he added.

Influenced by the world financial crisis, the main subject of the event will be the measures to stabilize the banking system and economics under the global crisis conditions. Participants will discuss the possibilities of the international cooperation in development of the financial markets and banking systems of CIS countries and CEE; the situation on the world financial markets; the integration mechanisms and ways of introducing the banks of CIS countries and CEE to the world financial system in the changing economic situation.

Furthermore the 20th BACEE Country and Bank Conference will be dedicated to the recent developments in the economy and the banking sector in Central and Eastern Europe, South Eastern Europe, the Baltics, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus and other CIS countries.

Speakers of the event will be heads of the central banks, regulating bodies, ministers of finance, top-managers of the biggest international and national commercial and investment banks, leaders of banking associations, independent experts.

For the first time in 2009, the international banking award â€žPlatinum Keyâ€œ will be investitured. The award was founded by the leaders of the banking organizations of Europe and CIS countries and will be given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of the banking industry and proved to be an outstanding anti-crisis manager.

The BACEE Country and Bank Conference attracted about 1000 attendees from more than 170 banks over the last few years. Similarly to that the Banking Forum of the CIS Countries & Eastern Europe is steadily growing as Russia positions itself as a global economic player with a huge potential for the further development. Exploiting synergies the 3rd Banking Forum of the CIS Countries & Eastern Europe and 20th BACEE Country and Bank Conference is the platform for the representatives of more than 40 countries for the discussion of banking system- and financial marketsâ€™ development in CIS-, Central and Eastern European countries.
