Azerqarant Insurance Company achieves 9% rise in 1Q09 premiums

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Azerqarant Insurance Company earned AZN 144 476 in premiums during January-March, up 9.4% on a year ago.
Shukur Huseynov, Deputy Director of the Company, said payment for insurance claims skyrocketed by more than 19-fold, year-on-year, to AZN 38 680.
Azerqarant has been in operation since 1993. It provides services for 22 voluntary and 4 compulsory types of insurance.
