Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office confirmed on Saturday he will travel to Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference despite escalating tensions in his country, APA reports citing teletrader.
According to the Ukrainian presidency, Zelensky will hold meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson and United States Vice President Kamala Harris during his stay in Munich.
Earlier, media reports claimed the administration of US President Joe Biden urged Zelensky to cancel the trip due to the mounting tensions at home, expressing concerns Russia could claim he fled. Biden noted that it is up to Zelensky to decide if he should leave the country or not.
