Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that the "strongest countries" should become the guarantors of security of his country amid its war with Russia, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We are working to ensure that the strongest subjects of the free world become the guarantors of our security," Zelensky stated in a video message outlining Kyiv's security guarantees recommendations and added the guarantors should respond with sanctions and any necessary material and financial assistance Kiev could need in case of Russian aggression.
He stressed that "clear and legally binding steps" and "preventive" actions "aimed at preventing war and cooling the aggressor's intentions" are needed.
Earlier, Russia's Dmitry Medvedev branded the Ukrainian plan a "prelude to the third world war."
