Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a statement commemorating International Human Rights Day criticized the "collective West" for "forming and imposing" their own human and civil rights concepts on the world, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"It is these misguided guidelines that actually replaced the Universal Declaration of Human Rights," she argued, condemning the Western powers for justifying some actions, "from illegal sanctions to the killing of civilians."
"Russia today is in the forefront of that world majority, which is alien to double standards, which professes the principles of legal equality and their strict implementation," she concluded.
