Baku – APA. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced the details of detention of the two Russian soldiers at the administrative border with the Crimea at the checkpoint “Chongar”.
SBU head Vasyl Hrytsak said that Maxim Odintsov and Alexander Baranov were detained over the charges of desertion and treason, APA reported citing RIA Novosti.
According to him, a criminal case was launched against the two Russian soldiers in 2015 and they were aware of it.
Russia has accused Ukraine of abducting two of its servicemen from the Crimean peninsula. The Russian defense ministry said the men were "illegally detained" on Sunday.
