Baku-APA. Investments of Poland's special economic zones have reached 85.8 billion PLN (about 26.8 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2012, official figures showed on Tuesday, APA reports quoting AP.
According to the government information office (CIR), more than 74 percent of invested capital came from Poland, Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Italy and Japan. Most investments went to the automotive sectors.
At the end of 2012, firms operating in the country's special economic zones employed 247,500 people.
There are 14 special economic zones in Poland which are to operate until 2020. (1 PLN = 0.31 U.S. dollar)
