The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted a public opinion survey in the first half of 2026 to assess Azerbaijani citizens' attitudes toward the activities of President Ilham Aliyev and analyze the dynamics and trends in this area, the Media Development Agency told APA.

According to the information, the survey results showed a high level of public support for President Ilham Aliyev's political leadership and strategic activities.

According to the survey results, the overall level of trust in President Ilham Aliyev among respondents stands at 87.7%. This figure confirms that approximately nine out of every 10 people in the country trust President Ilham Aliyev.

The survey also found that 93.6% of respondents positively assess the President's performance.

One of the strongest indicators confirming the high level of trust and support is citizens' voting behavior. If the presidential election were held next Sunday, the overwhelming majority of respondents – 91.5% – said they would vote for President Ilham Aliyev.

The analysis of the survey results indicates that the high level of trust and confidence in the President has been shaped not only by the Head of State's reputation but also by the preservation of the country's internal stability. In this regard, the President is regarded in public opinion as a unifying figure within the framework of national interests and as irreplaceable in terms of ensuring stability. Overall, 81.9% of respondents consider President Ilham Aliyev an irreplaceable political leader. This view was observed across all socio-demographic groups participating in the survey, and an upward trend in this indicator was recorded compared to previous periods.

It was noted that the public opinion survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews between May 20 and May 30, 2026. A total of 1,210 respondents aged 18 and above participated in the survey.

The distribution of respondents by gender, age groups, education level, and economic regions was determined proportionally to official statistical indicators, ensuring representativeness of the population.

The margin of error is ±3%.
