On June 29–30, the Fourth High-Level Conference of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies of UN Member States was held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York as part of the Fourth UN Counter-Terrorism Week, the Press Service of the State Security Service told APA.

According to the information, Azerbaijan was represented at the event, dedicated to the review of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and related issues, by a delegation consisting of officials from the State Security Service (SSS) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On June 29, during the High-Level Conference, a reception and presentation ceremony titled "Strengthening International Cooperation Against Terrorism: Perspectives of the Baku Security Forum" was held at the UN Headquarters.

At the prestigious event, attended by senior officials of leading international organizations and counter-terrorism agencies, Alexander Zuev, Under-Secretary-General of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, and Tofig Musayev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN, delivered speeches.

Later, Hasan Mansurov, Deputy Chief of the State Security Service and a member of the Organizing Committee of the Baku Security Forum, delivered a presentation on the Baku Security Forum and its operational platform — the Counter-Terrorism Information Exchange System (CTIES), providing extensive information on its current status and future plans.

The presentation emphasized that the statement by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, that "Baku is no longer only an energy and transport hub, but also a venue for global security discussions," is of great importance for the environment of cooperation.

At the same time, Hasan Mansurov noted that the Baku Security Forum is based on the UN's international security principles and pointed out that, within a short period of time, the institution has become an important platform bringing together security and special services around common objectives. In this regard, it was stated that a permanent Secretariat of the Baku Security Forum, covering more than 150 security and intelligence agencies from over 100 countries, has been established, and that efforts are continuing toward its legal and institutional development and transformation into an international organization.

Following the screening of a video presentation on the activities of the Baku Security Forum, the event continued with performances of the "Yalli" and "Azerbaijan" dances by students of the "My Way" Children's and Youth Development Center, after which business meetings were held among the participants.
