Baku. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. The opening of border is a bilateral issue between Turkey and Armenia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s annual session in Istanbul, an APA correspondent reported from Istanbul.
Stoltenberg made the remarks when asked by an Armenian MP to comment on in what way he thinks the closed border between the two countries affects Turkey’s efforts to build close ties with the European Union.
The NATO secretary general noted that since this issue is of bilateral interest to Turkey and Armenia, it has to be brought up at bilateral level only.
“Therefore, there is no way I can comment on this,” he said.
