A campaign “Europe-home” has been launched in Georgia in order to raise the awareness among the population about the visa-free regime with EU countries.
Addressing a launching ceremony of the campaign, Georgia’s State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Victor Dolidze underlined the importance of the campaign, an APA correspondent reported from Tbilisi.
“We continue to promote the rules of visa-free regime with the EU. Without the support of civil society, such campaigns would be difficult to be implemented,” he said.
Within the framework of the campaign to be conducted in various parts of Georgia, as well as in its regions and villages which are home to national minorities, instructors will inform the public about visa-free regime procedures with the EU. In addition, brochures of the appropriate content in Azerbaijani and Armenian languages ​​will be distributed among local residents.
The recent poll conducted by the US-based National Democratic Institute (NDI) shows that 66 percent of national minorities in Georgia are not well informed about the procedures related to visa-free travel to EU countries.
The agreement on visa-free regime between Georgia and the European Union came into force on March 28, 2017.
