The History of Light is a "Bildungsroman" covering more than 50 years of the fascinating life of Drtikol (1883-1961), one of the most renown Czech photographers of the 20th century, who is especially known for his nudes and portraits. Later he gave up photography and concentrated on painting as well as Buddhist religious and philosophical systems.
