Remains of First Karabakh War serviceman Rauf Ahmadov laid to rest in Goranboy - PHOTO

The remains of Rauf Azhdar Ahmadov, a missing martyr of the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family, APA's local bureau reports.

According to APA's local bureau, a farewell ceremony for the fallen serviceman was held today in Sarov village of the Goranboy district, where he was born.

Following the ceremony, the martyr's remains were buried at the cemetery in Sarov village, Goranboy district.

The funeral ceremony was attended by Maharram Guliyev, Head of the Goranboy District Executive Authority, the martyr's family members and relatives, representatives of the local community, families of martyrs, war veterans, military personnel, law enforcement officers, and residents of the village.

During the ceremony, a military orchestra performed the National Anthem, and a gun salute was fired.

The Azerbaijani flag draped over the martyr's coffin was presented to his brother.

It should be noted that Rauf Azhdar Ahmadov was born in 1969 in Sarov village of the Goranboy district. He went missing in 1993 near the Sarsang Reservoir in the Aghdara district. After being listed as missing for many years, his identity was established through the identification process, and his remains were returned to his family.
