The volume of the direct foreign investment in Georgia in the IIQ of this year amounted to $187 million, said in the report of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports.
This indicator is 53,7% less than the reporting period of 2018.
The biggest investor into Georgia was the Netherlands in the reporting period with $58,1 million. Turkey ($36 million) and USA ($27,5 million) took the second and third places. Azerbaijan was the fourth in the list ($15,8 million).
The reason for the sharp decrease of the direct foreign investments is considered to be the finishing of the pipeline projects in the country.
