The United States and Israel will bear full and direct responsibility for all direct and indirect consequences of these unlawful actions, including any escalation arising from them, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, APA reports.
In his statement, Guterres called for an immediate ceasefire, warning that failure to comply risks triggering “a broader regional conflict with devastating consequences for civilians and regional stability.”
Guterres also stressed that all member states must respect their obligations under international law, including the UN Charter, which prohibits “the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.”
