Ukraine MFA condemns Russia’s provocation against Türkiye’s ship in Black Sea

“Ukraine Minister of Foreign Affairs condemned provocative actions of Russia against Türkiye’s “Şükrü Okan” cargo ship that was going to Izmail Port in the Black Sea with determination”, Ukraine MFA said in a statement, APA reports.

Ukraine Ministry noted that the Russian Navy violated the UN Charter, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and other norms of International Law.

“These actions are examples of Russia’s targeted policy that threatens freedom of navigation and security of commercial shipping in the Black Sea.

We are expressing our support to Türkiye – our strategic partner and expressing that we stand in solidarity with this country, and call for the international community to take decisive steps to prevent actions of the Federation of Russia that prevent the peaceful passage of ships through the Black Sea”, - was noted in the statement of Ukraine MFA.
