APA presents an interview of Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze with Vesti.az:
- All in the world follow Tbilisi and are interested in what is happening in Georgia. What can you tell them?
- Indeed, there was an attempt at a coup d'état. It has being prepared for a long time, and foreigners have a hand in this. Direct funding has been allocated to specific non-governmental organizations and parties to replicate the events that took place in Ukraine. However, society saw that the "National Maidan" did not take place in Tbilisi, and we will not allow anyone to stage a coup and divide society. We will maintain stability in the country, which is important in the current situation for both the region and the world. We see which processes are taking place everywhere, so today there is no alternative to peace and tranquility.
- What can you say about the bilateral relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan? Can anything change?
- The only thing that will change is that the relations between our countries will deepen further. We are friendly nations, Azerbaijan is our strategic partner, and this is manifested in many ways. This friendship will become even stronger. There will be peace on both sides - peace in Azerbaijan, in Georgia, and in the region as a whole. And with this unity, we will become even stronger states.
