A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin could pave the way for new progress in peace talks, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, APA reports.
Sybiha noted that a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin could be the most effective step in terms of creating new momentum in the peace process. According to him, the meeting could be held with the participation of US President Donald Trump or through the mediation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to the minister, Kyiv has repeatedly stated that it is ready for a trilateral meeting between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine and wants such a meeting to take place as soon as possible.
The Ukrainian minister cited achieving a ceasefire, exchanging prisoners of war, and returning children among the possible outcomes of the meeting.
