Swedish assistance is on the way in response to the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, APA reports citing Facebook account of Sweden embassy in Azerbaijan.
"An aircraft bound for Türkiye has taken off from Sweden carrying a number of search and rescue teams. The 45-strong group includes medical staff, search teams with dogs and management support.
Earlier this week, Sweden sent experts and contributed SEK 37 million (approx. EUR 3.2 million) in humanitarian support. Sweden also provides core support via the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Sweden’s efforts to support those affected and in need in Türkiye and Syria will continue," the embassy says.
