The attack by the Russian army with drones on the Odessa region on the night of November 17 led to the evacuation of the population of the Romanian border village, APA reports, citing Euronews.
The report states that local residents were evacuated due to the risk of an explosion in the village of Plaur in the Tulcea region of Romania. The reason for this was a fire that broke out on a Turkish tanker carrying liquefied gas in the port of Izmail as a result of the strikes by the Russian army on a number of energy and port infrastructure in the Odessa region. The ship is reported to be carrying approximately 4 thousand tons of liquefied gas.
The Romanian emergency services announced that they are in constant contact with the Ukrainian side regarding the incident. According to the agency, although there is currently no need for direct intervention by the Romanian services, the evacuation is continuing as the possible explosion of the cargo poses a threat to both the Romanian and Ukrainian sides.
