Baku-APA. Six workers were killed on Saturday as a train ran over a space wagon in southern Italy, local media said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
According to the ANSA news agency, a regional train slammed into a space wagon as it crossed the tracks at a private level crossing near Cosenza, a city in the southern Calabria region.
Six farm laborers from Romania and Bulgaria who were travelling on the space wagon were reported dead after it was knocked off some 200 meters from the rails.
Two other workers were reportedly safe because they had got off the vehicle to open the gate that gives access to the tracks.
No one aboard the train was injured, first investigations said.
