The United States and the European Union will build a modular nuclear power plant within the framework of energy diversification in Armenia, the Hraparak publication wrote, APA reports.
The article states that a secret agreement on this matter was reached during meetings between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Meanwhile, official Yerevan denies that any such demand has been made.
The author of the article writes that an agreement has been reached to shut down the Armenian NPP, the only nuclear power plant operating in the South Caucasus.
As for the West's demand to construct a new modular nuclear power plant, this is mainly aimed at preventing risks to the lives of civilians.
It should be noted that in recent years, Azerbaijan and Türkiye have demanded the closure of the Armenian NPP from official Yerevan.
