Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the country is facing a critical shortage of air defense missiles needed to repel Russia's ballistic missile attacks.
In an interview with Sky News, Zelenskyy said the current focus is on talks with U.S. President Donald Trump and other allies.
He said the goal is to ensure the continuation of weapons supplies and financial support for Ukraine, as well as to tighten sanctions against Russia.
"We are short of missiles to protect ourselves, and this is a serious problem. Sanctions against Russia's military industry are not sufficient. They are increasing ballistic missile production. That is why we need air defense systems as quickly as possible," Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that Russia is increasingly using ballistic missiles against major cities. According to him, 40 ballistic missiles were launched at Kyiv within a single hour last week alone.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine's access to air defense systems has also become more difficult due to the conflict in the Middle East.
