The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has updated its official casualty statistics for the U.S.-Iran war.
According to APA, the Pentagon's Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) has added more than 140 wounded service members to its records. In addition, a new category, "Overseas Operations," was introduced on July 7 to track personnel killed and wounded in the conflict.
Under the updated figures, Operation Epic Fury, described as the initial phase of the conflict, resulted in the deaths of 14 U.S. service members, while more than 400 were wounded.
According to the latest statistics, since the United States launched military operations against Iran on February 28, a total of 18 U.S. service members have been killed and 624 have been injured.
