French President Emmanuel Macron called the US and Israeli strikes on Iran outside the bounds of international law, noting that they have provoked an escalation of the conflict in the region, French leader said during a televised address to the nation, broadcast by the Elysée Palace press service, APA reports.
"War has broken out again in the Middle East. It began as a result of US and Israeli strikes on Iran, has spread throughout the region, and has grave consequences for peace and security for all. <...> Negotiations have reached an impasse, and the United States and Israel have decided to launch military operations. These have been carried out in violation of international law, which we cannot condone," Macron said.
