Deutsche Lufthansa AG stated on Thursday that it is canceling around 800 flights on Friday due to a previously announced pilots' strike. The action will affect passenger and cargo flights from airports in Frankfurt and Munich, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
Lufthansa claimed it made "a very good offer" to the pilots, stating that the counterproposal made by the pilots' union would "increase cockpit payroll costs from 2.2 billion euros by probably more than 40% - or approximately 900 million euros - over the next two years."
The airline's stock plunged 3.74% at 11:41 am CET.
