Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of the far-right French political party National Front now renamed to National Rally, has been hospitalized following a "mild heart attack," APA reports citing AFP.
According to the reports, the 94-year-old father of the French National Assembly member Marine Le Pen is said to be in a "serious" condition but remains conscious. "Jean-Marie Le Pen has been hospitalized in a public institution in the Paris region. His family and friends are concerned but calm," Le Pen's advisor Lorrain de Saint Affrique told AFP.
Le Pen, who served as a member of both French and European parliaments and ran for the French presidency five times, suffered a minor stroke in February 2022.
