Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar has commented on the issue of supplying F-16 fighter jets from the USA, APA reports.
The minister noted that Turkiye needs F-16s.
“Along with this F16s that we have also need modernization. The process within the framework of Foreign Military Sales has started,” stressed Akar.
According to the minister, this process is coordinated with the US Ministry of Defence and the State Department.
Hulusi Akar also responded to a question about the letter from the US State Department in response to a question from Congress.
“There are some positive points in the letter, but we need to be careful. This is a long process, our wish is a positive result,” noted Defence Minister.
