"The imposition of sanctions reflects the dire situation of the Ukrainian government," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in response to Ukraine's decision to impose sanctions on Georgian officials, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.
"Today, the Ukrainian government is in an even more challenging situation, and this decision is a reflection of that hardship," Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister also noted that Georgia has not received any official notification from Ukraine regarding the sanctions.
Recall that Ukraine has imposed sanctions not only on the leader of the ruling party, Bidzina Ivanishvili but also on 18 high-ranking officials of the "Georgian Dream" party, including Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of "Georgian Dream," Kakha Kaladze; Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze; Head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili; and Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri.
