American and European funds using opaque money finance political parties and radical groups in Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament told journalists, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
The speaker underlined that the threats and statements regarding sanctions are not serious, and transparency regarding the financing of foreign funds should be provided.
"First of all, I call on everyone to ensure the openness and transparency of their finances in Georgia. Unfortunately, today there are both European and American funds that spend opaque money in Georgia, and it turns out that these funds are used to finance political parties and radical groups. Therefore, I call on everyone to be guided by democratic principles and ensure the transparency of funds spent from their budget," Papuashvili said.
