German Chancellor Olaf Scholz considers dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin necessary, Scholz said at a meeting with his constituents in Potsdam, APA reports citing “Süddeutsche Zeitung”.
"Our opinions are completely different, but I want to seize the opportunity when it will be possible to get out of this situation, and for that, I will keep talking with Putin. I won't get what I want unless I talk to him "said the chancellor.
Notably, the leaders last spoke on the phone on December 2.
Recalled that on February 24, this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree authorizing the launch of special military operations in Ukraine. As a result, Western countries have officially imposed large-scale sanctions on Moscow and increased supplies of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.
