Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has closed its representative office in Georgia, local media said, APA’s Georgia bureau reports.
Although the foundation has not yet officially announced the closure of its Tbilisi office, it has sent a letter to its partners regarding the matter.
The foundation linked the suspension of its activities in Georgia to “restrictive” laws adopted in the country in recent years.
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation had been operating in Georgia since 2002.
It should be recalled that Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Foundation has also decided to close its office in Tbilisi.
