Spanish Lluis Maria de Puig elected new PACE president

APA’s Europe bureau reports that prior to the session, the issue of electing the next president was discussed at the meeting of PACE bureau. The only candidate to the post, head of socialist group, chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Culture, 63-year-old Spanish Parliamentarian Lluis Maria de Puig has been elected president of PACE. According to the agreement of the groups, tenure of PACE president has reduced from three years to two years. /APA/
