Baku- APA. British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday met with visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Downing Street, and the duo discussed steps to boost bilateral trade links, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The discussion was "constructive" and focused on British-Indonesian trade and investment relationship, a Downing Street spokesperson said after the meeting.

"Both leaders agreed that good progress had been made, but more needed to be done to meet the shared target of doubling bilateral trade by 2015," the spokesperson said.

Cameron told Yudhoyono that he was delighted that oil major BP had just signed a 7.5-billion-pound (12 billion U.S. dollars) development deal in liquid natural gas in Indonesia, saying that it was a huge boost to the Britain’s growing trade and investment in Indonesia’s emerging market.

Cameron also welcomed the recent expansion of the financial sector in Indonesia and said he hoped more British companies would be able to invest in Indonesia.

The two leaders also welcomed the signing of a defence agreement between the two countries which they said would set the stage for increased co-operation in research and development, investment and production in the industry.
