EU leaders endorse strict sanctions against Syria

Baku – APA. Leaders of 27 member states of the European Union endorsed more sanctions against Syria, said President of the European Union Herman van Rompuy while evaluating the results of two days summit held in Brussels, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
This is the 19th package of sanctions imposed on Syria. New EU sanctions ban the transportation and export of any kind of weapons and ammunitions.
The Foreign Ministers of the EU member states have blacklisted 28 more Syrians. 181 individuals and 54 legal entities have already been included into the list. The above mentioned persons accused of supporting Bashar-al-Assad regime are banned from visiting the EU countries and their assets in the European banks have been frozen. Moreover, assets of “Syrian Arab Airlines†have also been frozen and the planes of this company have been prohibited from flying to Europe.
