Turkish Armed Forces strictly warns those who want Kurdish to have second official language status

People working for this purpose have been strictly warned in an official statement of the Armed Forced posted on the Headquarters’ official website.

The Headquarters reminded the third item of Turkish Constitution to those who discuss second language of the state. That item reads: “Turkey is indivisible with its state, country and nation. Its language is Turkish”.

“Language, culture and unity of idea are main factors of national establishment. Without unity of language, results of it will be as several other sorrowful examples was shown in the history”, told the Headquarters.

Moreover, the Headquarters declared that recently, discussions conducted among the society related to state language was a step taking to the end which will change foundation and establishment philosophy of Turkey, and it is observed with dismay: “Turkish Armed Forces has always supported maintenance of nation state, unitary state and secular state in the frame of maintenance of integrity of independence of Turkish state and nation, indivisibility of the country, maintenance of republic and democracy and it will continue supporting all these forever”.
