Polish Prime Minister: Russian Air Crash Report «Unacceptable»

Baku – APA. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says that a Russian report on the April air crash that killed Poland’s president is “unacceptable”, APA reports quoting “The Voice of America”.
Both Poland and Russia have been investigating the April 10 crash of a Polish jetliner in heavy fog in Smolensk, Russia. The crash killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others.
Mr. Tusk, speaking on the sidelines of a European summit in Brussels, said Friday that the Russian report contained mistakes and failed to account for Polish suggestions about the investigation.
He did not disclose specifics of the Russian report, but said its shortcomings led to “unfounded” conclusions.
Polish media reports say that Russian investigators have primarily blamed the pilot for deciding to land the plane in the heavy fog. But some in Poland have suggested that Russian airport personnel made mistakes as well.
Mr. Kaczynski, his wife and others were traveling to a ceremony commemorating the 1940 Katyn massacre in which more than 20,000 Polish officers were executed by Soviet secret police.
Russian President Dimitry Medvedev visited Poland last week and pledged to cooperate in the investigation. A Russian foreign ministry spokesman said Russian investigators would answer all of Poland’s questions about the crash.
