Baku-APA. The European Commission has decided to end visa requirements for citizens of Bosnia and Albania traveling to the European Union, APA reports quoting voanews.com website.
But EU commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom on Monday cautioned that visa restrictions could be re-imposed if the travel rules are abused. She said the European Commission would set up a process to prevent the misuse of asylum procedures.
Only Bosnians and Albanians with biometric passports will qualify for the restriction-free travel.
The European Parliament and member states still have to approve the proposal.
In 2009, the EU got rid of visas for citizens of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
