Baku-APA. The Presidents of Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia decided at Czech spa town Karlovy Vary Saturday to coordinate their stands towards two pressing problems of EU - issues of Romany minorities and energy security, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

They announced it at a press conference after a two-day summit of the so-called Visegrad Four. They agreed that the EU’s transit systems must be integrated and that countries should not be dependent on one sole energy source.

The presidents of the four countries, Vaclav Klaus, Pal Schmitt, Bronislaw Komorowski and Ivan Gasparovic also want to coordinate their steps next year, when Hungary and Poland will be responsible for EU presidency.

Visegrad Four was founded almost twenty years ago as an organization to protect and pursue their common interest at the time when they wanted to enter European Union.

Host of the summit, Czech President Vaclav Klaus said a Friday banquet that V4 survived all stormy peripeteia of the last two decades and it remains a viable platform of cooperation not only among its members, but also towards their partners in Europe.

Hungarian President Pal Schmitt and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, both new in their offices, attended the summit for the first time.

Slovak President Gasparovic said he considers the Romany issue a very hot problem that must be dealt with on the EU level.

Hungarian’s Schmitt sees the possible solution in young Romanies’ education, enough jobs for the community and elimination of prejudices.

According to Czech President Vaclav Klaus, the summit met expectations and participants agreed on the importance of further existence of V4.
