Georgian president thanks U.S. state secretary for supportive statement

Baku-APA. Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on Thursday expressed gratefulness to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for her supportive statement made a day earlier after having met visiting Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri in Washington, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

Saakashvili’s spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze told a press briefing that the president had thanked Clinton for expressing support once again.

The Georgian prime minister was visiting the United States for the U.S.-Georgia Partnership Charter which was held on Wednesday in the U.S. capital.

Previously, the U.S. state secretary expressed her support during her visit to Tbilisi in early July this year.

Clinton supported Georgia’s ongoing reforms as well as the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
