Baku-APA. Czech Republic were bundled out of the final eight of the men’s volleyball world championship on Tuesday when they lost to Germany 25-23, 25-18, 25-13 in the third round of pool match, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

This is the second consecutive loss for Czech after they succumbed to Brazil in a five-set thriller on Monday, thus they will finish last of their pool and are to vie for the best possible 9th place of the tournament.

"This is our worst game of the tournament," said the dejected Czech captain Ondrej Hudecek.

"It was bad in all parts of the game. We couldn’t stop the German attack. Maybe it was because we lost a lot of energy in our five-set match against Brazil."

Czech had been playing impressively during the tournament with a run of straight four wins, including a 3-0 win over the United States, before the match against Brazil.

"We have played well against a great team that has been playing very well in the championship," said the German head coach Raul Lozano.

"Today their level was not the same probably due to the match against Brazil and they paid the price of the five sets," he said.

Germany will play against defending champions Brazil on Wednesday for a spot of the semifinals, and Lozano urged his players not to respect Brazil too much.

"It is going to be a very tough game against one of the best teams in history and against a great coach like Bernardo," he said.

"But I also think that when we play good we are tough to beat. I have no problems to play against Brazil and if we eliminate the respect we can play with them," Lozano added.
