Baku – APA. Turkish opposition leader, chairman of the Republican People Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu said they respected the referendum results, but considered it as a result of the government’s pressure. Kilcdaroglu said Turkey couldn’t go on with a decision, which satisfied only one side. “We have to take lessons from this result and not to forget that there was no condition for free expression of the people’s will. The authorities couldn’t take the examination of democracy. AKP intends to establish a court system completely linked with itself. CHP will continue its struggle. 42 percent is not enough, but it is good result”.

Kilicdaroglu explained why he couldn’t vote in the referendum. “I was registered in Istanbul, but after changing home address my name was removed from the voters list and I was not informed about that. I apologize to party members and supporters because it was my mistake as well”.

CHP leaders connected the opposition’s defeat in the referendum with that a part of the Nationalist Movement Party’s (MHP) electorate voted for the Constitutional amendments and some people couldn’t vote because they were in holiday.
