British Airways in new strike
# 02 September 2010 21:37 (UTC +04:00)
Baku-APA. Unions have blamed British Airways’ disciplinary cases for complicating its cabin crew row, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The dispute, which began last November, when BA announced it was cutting crew pay and reducing staffing, has cost the airline 150 million pounds.

More than 80 of the crew have been suspended and 13 sacked because of incidents related to the dispute this year.

A union spokesman said, "The continuing rise in the number of unjustified suspensions and dismissals is seriously complicating any attempt to bring this dispute to an end."

According to the BBC, Unite claimed that BA has rejected a compromise offer aimed at resolving the row over the removal of travel concessions for cabin crew who have been on strike and warned a strike ballot was "inevitable" if BA continued to "delay" reaching a settlement.
