It’s possible to increase transportation capacity of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline to 60 mln per year, said the SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev in his article “Azerbaijan’s far-reaching energy strategy in the modern world” in the book of “Azerbaijan in the modern world” prepared by the New Azerbaijan Party for conference “Azerbaijan in the modern world”.
According to him, currenct transportation capacity is 50 mln tons.
Abdullayev added that 402 mln tons of oil have been transported to the world market so far, including 268.5 mln tons by BTC, 71.2 mln tons by Baku-Supsa pipeline, 39.6 mln tons by Baku-Novorossiysk and 20.8 mln tons via railway. At the same period, BTC transported about 13 mln tons of Turkmenistan and over 6.4 mln tons of Kazakh oil.
