Azerbaijan-Georgia cooperation in the energy sector is not only based on economic interests but also reflects a shared strategic vision aimed at the stability and development of the region, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov in his speech at the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, APA reports.
The Prime Minister said that this strategic partnership has already gone beyond regional borders and has become a successful example of international cooperation:
“Azerbaijan-Georgia energy cooperation is not only based on economic interests but also reflects a shared strategic vision aimed at the stability and development of the region. The foundation of this cooperation consists of internationally significant projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, and the Southern Gas Corridor. These projects have changed the geopolitical landscape of our region and have ensured the safe and reliable delivery of energy resources to world markets. In particular, the Southern Gas Corridor, realized on Azerbaijan’s initiative and with Georgia’s active participation, has already become an important component of Europe’s energy security. In recent months, the number of countries to which Azerbaijan exports gas has increased to 14, of which 10 are European countries. Today, we are taking our successful cooperation in the oil and gas sector to a new stage and developing it in the direction of green energy. Azerbaijan and Georgia also act as strong partners in the development of renewable energy sources and as part of the “Caspian – Black Sea – Europe Green Energy Corridor” initiative. This is a sign of our shared future-oriented vision and commitment to sustainable development principles.”
