Kazakhstan’s first jack-up drilling rig “Satti” has been sent to the Caspian Sea, APA-Economics reports citing Kazakhstan's national company KazMunayGas.
According to information, the drilling rig has been sent to the sea for conduction of drilling works in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea after modification works. Weight-lifting opportunities of the rig have been increased from 453 tonnes to 680 tonnes as a result of modification works. The rig can carry out drilling of wells deeper than 6,000 meters now.
"The drilling rig will be commissioned within the framework of "Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula" project, of which operator is BP company," noted in the information.
