There is alignment between the national development goals of Azerbaijan and Cambodia, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Cambodia Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Kith Meng said during a speech at the Azerbaijan-Cambodia business forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that although the two countries are located thousands of kilometers apart geographically, both attach special importance to sustainable development, strategic economic growth, and modernization:
“Although Cambodia and Azerbaijan are geographically located thousands of kilometers apart, there is deep alignment between our national goals. Both countries are characterized by unwavering efforts toward sustainable development, strategic growth, and modernization.
Our formal diplomatic relations were established in December 1994, laying the foundation for ties between the Caspian region and Southeast Asia.”
He noted that over the past decades, these relations have been strengthened through regular diplomatic contacts, joint membership in international organizations such as the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as high-level mutual visits:
“In this regard, the historic official visit of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Baku 12 years ago, in 2014, is of particular importance.
Our historical ties, based on our shared belief in sovereignty, regional stability, and international cooperation, serve as a solid foundation for the development of our modern partnership.
Over the past two decades, in an environment of peace and stability, Cambodia has become one of Asia’s most open and fastest-growing economies.”
