“Looking ahead, we see that economic and commercial relations between our two countries have great and still largely untapped potential waiting to be realized,” President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Cambodia Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Kith Meng said during a speech at the Azerbaijan-Cambodia business forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, although bilateral trade turnover remains limited, the economic complementarity between Azerbaijan and Cambodia is clearly visible and promises major opportunities:
“As Azerbaijan strengthens its important position in the fields of energy, electricity, and industry, while Cambodia develops as a dynamic agricultural producer and manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia, the opportunities for synergy between our countries have never been greater.”
Kith Meng invited Azerbaijani state-owned companies and private sector representatives to explore cooperation opportunities in four main areas:
“The first area is agricultural processing and food security. The second area is energy infrastructure. As Cambodia expands the reliability of its electricity supply and industrial infrastructure, exceptional opportunities are emerging for establishing joint ventures in energy transition, modern infrastructure development, the creation of special economic zones, and the development of large manufacturing facilities. Azerbaijani manufacturers seeking a stable production environment in the ASEAN region will find in Cambodia a favorable business environment with high profit potential. The third area is tourism, aviation, and human capital development. This includes investment in the hospitality sector and an exchange of experience in professional training between the two peoples. The fourth area is trade facilitation. By expanding cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, energy, trade facilitation, and tourism, we lay the groundwork for deeper ties between the private sectors, increased investment, and sustainable prosperity that will directly benefit the populations of both countries.”
“We are ready to work shoulder to shoulder with our Azerbaijani partners to turn today’s discussions into legally binding commercial agreements, joint ventures, and long-term friendship,” he noted.
